 Dog Adoption Fee

The adoption fee includes:

• Spay/neuter 
• Age appropriate vaccines 
• De-worming  
• Heartworm testing (dogs over 6 months of age):
• Preventive healthcare 
• Skin treatments (if needed)

 Cat Adoption Fee

$100

The adoption fee includes:

• Spay/neuter
• Age appropriate vaccines 
• De-worming  
• FIV/FeLV testing

Why Adopt?

There are thousands of homeless animals in our community. They deserve to have homes, know love, comfort and family. Adopting can be very rewarding because it saves a helpless animal that found itself at the shelter through no fault of it's own. A shelter pet can bring you joy, happiness, and a sense of fulfillment. 

Adoption is typically less expensive than buying a pet. Our adoption fees are much less than the price of a pet at a store or breeder and include all vaccinations, deworming,  appropriate testing, and spay or neuter. Normally, those services can cost $200-$500 at vet clinic depending on the animal's age and weight. 

Adoption Process

At the Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter, we recognize that pets, like people, are individuals. We strive to make sure each owner/pet match enjoy a long and rewarding relationship.  During the application process, we will determine if the pet is a good match for you, your home and your lifestyle.  If you have children and/or other pets, we’ll make sure the pet you've chosen is compatible with the entire family.

During the approval process, we will make sure that you have:

• An appropriate home for a pet. Renters will be required to provide a lease agreement stating that animals are allowed on the property.
• Living conditions that match the pet's requirements.
• A lifestyle that allows you to provide adequate attention, care and exercise for your pet.
• Financial resources to feed and care for your pet.
• A realistic understanding of the demands of pet ownership.
